After a few decades of creating art using traditional methods (drawing, collage, screenprinting), NEV OLO has embraced digital art creation as well as the concept of art as digital property.

As a result of this shift of thought, NEV OLO has fused traditional art creation with digital art creation and ownership.

What does this mean specifically?

There are two aspects involved here: Digital Art Creation, and Digital Art Collecting.

Digital Art Creation

NEV OLO artworks created by hand (pencil/ink drawings, collage) are digitally combined into a multi-layered digital artwork.Some of these digital artworks are 1 of 1 artworks, while others will be transformed into limited editions of unique iterative artworks using a custom coded P5.js generative art engine.This P5.js Art engine created by NEV OLO essentially takes layered digital artwork and applies a variety of randomizations to generate a series of unique artwork iterations (typically 100 to 1000 artworks).That's the art creation side of it. Just as important it how these artworks are created, is how they are collected and owned.

Digital Art Collecting

NEV OLO Uses Highlight, Foundation, Objkt, and Rodeo (digital art NFT minting platforms) to enable collectors to mint and collect digital art.After the artwork is minted, the collector can display/keep, sell or trade the artwork at their pleasure.

In Conclusion

NEV OLO has embraced the concept of art as digital property because of it's unique ability to open art ownership up to everyone everywhere.Now you don't have to be in a specific location on earth to collect directly from the artist.
